Divisions:
Beginner/Intermediate— players with 2 or fewer years of experience min: Limit of 12 athletes per date
Advanced— players with 3 or more years of experience min: Limit of 12 athletes per date

Hitting: Focus on offensive techniques and strategies. Skills covered will include arm swing mechanics, hitting/ blocking/transition footwork, timing, and common sets in each position. For the more advanced group, a variety of tempo sets will be covered as well as out-of-system sets, backrow attacks, hitting in transition, and optimal ball placement. Clinic is great opportunity for setters to get reps in but also get some hitting practice in as well.
Passing: Forearm/overhead passing, with a focus on platform, footwork and movement, and serve/receive and free ball techniques. The advanced group will cover 2 and 3 person serve receive strategies and tempo passing.
Serving: Emphasis overhand/underhand serving mechanics, including hand-to-ball contact, footwork, and tips for generating power, as well as ball placement, and basic serve types (float, topspin) . The advanced group will cover serving strategies, serving aggressively, serving zones, and advanced serve types (jump float, jump serve).
Defense: Defensive positioning, ball control and transitional digging is covered. Learning to move from base position to defensive position. Participants will learn to stay low, balanced and strong while receiving lots of reps and feedback. The advanced group will learn to read the attacker and where to move based on the block.
Blocking: Emphasis will be place on footwork, arm and hand mechanics along with spacing and timing. The advanced group will spend time on rhythm and timing based on the attack.
Setting: Participants are instructed in the basics of the setting position including footwork to the ball, hand position, release on the ball, and setting tempo. Advanced group will train for speed, accuracy, consistency, and decision-making. While all participants learn the same foundations of setting, they will also learn (when appropriate) more advanced techniques such as jump setting, tracking the block, holding opposing middle blockers, and game strategy. Clinic is great opportunity for hitters to hit a wide variety of sets and work on improving accuracy of different shots – line, cross, sharp cross.
Game Strategies: This clinic will cover in-system and out-of-system strategies. Precise skill work and game like drills will be utilized to develop a player’s tactical minded game. All instruction will be given during game like drills. Advanced group will focus on the skills necessary to thrive in a fast paced offensive system. Skills covered will include attacking quick tempo sets (in all positions), running a fast offense, transition, and blocking whether in system or out of system.
